I've been recreating hand ink drawings on an iPad and here's what I found.
Since I have been using an iPad I have always been measuring its place in my creative process against my old hand-drawn ink illustrations I did as a student. The reality has always been a resounding no, that is until recently.
I think I can now faithfully create this old style using an iPad Pro with an Apple pencil allowing me to easily recreate the stipple effect. The image of the left could easily have taken a week to create, whilst the image on the right, a day.
This means that I can now see a very real place in my creative arsenal for the iPad Pro not only as a tool for preliminary work but as a finishing tool for many different types and styles of illustration.
