Last week we were joined by Sam, a student from Saltash.net Community School.
Remembering back to my work experience, it was a bit of a scary experience even though I was lucky enough to be with a good friend's father in his law office. I think, however, I was probably a bit useless, but that's not the case with Sam.
Whilst a little nervous himself, it was a great experience having Sam in the office with us this week and made us all aware of how daunting it can be to start choosing a career path
Sam has listened and learnt lots over the week - Robin's web design and branding knowledge and creative expertise have steered Sam and given him a real insight into what's involved in the design process.
Sam's created some great images for us that we'll be using, and crediting to him, over the next week or so in our social media posts.
Here's what Sam had to say about his time with us:
"This week I have had the privilege of working with Carbon Pixel and their employees to learn the graphic design and branding business.
Over the week I have been set a variety of tasks based on different aspects of designing while learning new software such as Illustrator CC and Balsamiq to do vector based designing and wireframing.
As my week progressed I have made twitter images for both Carbon Pixel and Arrital Kitchens as well as visual rebranding for a local manufacturer which includes a logo and label design.
Overall, it has been a great experience working with the designer, Robin Holland, and the rest of Carbon Pixel who have taught me loads about the Industry which I’m near certain I want to break into after school.
I can’t thank them enough for the week."
